\nThe Posidonia oceanica<\/em> meadows have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. They are an endemic species of the Mediterranean Sea that is not present in any other sea in the world. It can be found between the surface level and 30-40 metres deep in waters such as those of Ibiza.
\nUnlike algae, it has leaves, stems, and roots, although it also produces flowers and fruit. It grows on a sandy bottom, while algae grow on hard or rocky bottoms.<\/p>\n
